TOOTHGATE

BB is 1 in a couple weeks and she still has the grand total of ZERO teeth.

I am not worried, I think she is actually teething at the moment but then I thought that at 6 months, 7 months, 8 months etc (you get the picture).

Every month I do a Baby Belle's 'Firsts' post where I write an update on all the new things she has discovered and done.  I am longing to say she has her first tooth, but the time never comes.

Two people have said to me, one in a quiet whisper (like it is something to be ashamed of) 'I think you should probably take her to the doctors now'.  Errmmm why exactly...because she is 11 months old and hasn't got her first tooth yet?  My doctor would laugh at me.

That is all :) x

  3. Don't worry, my own mum likes to tell the story of how I walked before I had a tooth! I bet they'll all come together. L had four top teeth cut through within a week last month. She was so off form that I took her to the Dr. I thought there was something seriously wrong but a few days later she had 4 new teeth!

  6. My 4yo had 16 by the time he was 1. This is highly unusual! My 1yo has 7 and is getting a couple at the back now too. Each and every child is different. My friend's son didn't get his 1st until he was 18 months. I guess there is just no right answer. Think about those babies who are born with teeth!

  7. I can't remember when my two girls first teeth arrived (another bad mum to add to the list). But my 10 month old got his first at 7 months - only remember this because it was Boxing Day. Up until his first teeth he was a great sleeper (I knew I shouldn't have been so smug), since it has all gone down hill. If some are born with them and others only get them well into their first year, I would say you've been quite lucky! People should keep their opinions to themselves (unless they are asked for them - and then they should proceed with caution. I wouldn't worry

  8. icklebabe - haha aaawww thanks lovely x

HannahSam - Wow 16, that's amazing. Just shows you how completely different babies are :)

Cara - I think I have this to come too..BB is an amazing sleeper (at night anyway) and I have been oh too smug about it so I know 100% that it will all change when she gets her 1st tooth too :) Like your look on things...people should keep opinions to themselves unless asked! Reminds me of Bambi when thumper says 'if you haven't anything nice to say don't say anything at all' :) xx

  14. Don't worry. My oldest didn't have any teeth until she turned 1. Now at almost 7 we have a new issue - all her classmates bar none have lost teeth and she is yet to lose one. I told her there's no rush to which she replied - "mummy, if I was 5 I would be rushing but i'm 6 already"! Ho hum - there's always something.
