New Years Resolutions

Everyone has them and very few seem to keep to them but perhaps by writing them down I will stick to them this year!

It is going to be a VERY busy 2011!  We have a romantic trip to Paris next month (thanks to hubby), a family holiday (BB's 1st time on a plane), we have a wedding reception to plan which needs a list to itself and of course it is BB's 2nd Birthday. We also have big plans for the business so exciting times ahead but we will have to be very organised!

1) Be Organised - I love to plan, in fact as anyone who knows me will tell you I have to have something to plan for, I feel lost otherwise..I love writing lists but I do still tend to leave things to the last minute. So in 2011 I will endeavour to be super duper organised and more of a finisher then a planner.

2) Do a Marathon - I know it is not very original but I really want to get fit again, I miss running miles and miles.  I am going to sign up to do a marathon and that way I will be forced to train hard.

3) Crafty - I am very creative, I love sewing and cooking and making things but this year I haven't really put the time aside to do it. BB and I have made biscuits and painted etc but I would like to do more...So in 2011 I will make sure me and BB do far more cooking and crafting together. Stepford Wives here I come!

4) Language - I have been learning Farsi (the Persian language) bit by bit for a few years now but never really sat down to consciously learn, which means I understand a lot and can speak the basics but I am nowhere near fluent. So in 2011 I will make more effort to learn and also brush up on my French again too.

5) The House - I love our house and we have amazing neighbours but I really feel it is time for a move, we have been here 5/6 years now and we both have itchy feet for a new 'project' house. So 2011 will see me making sure all the little imperfections are ironed out in this house so we can be ready to sell at any given time.

6) Frugal Living & Charity - We are very fortunate to be able to live to the standard we do and both hubby and I bring back a good wage, but I hate waste and we haven't been the best we can be this year.  I often think about those less fortunate then us and feel a bit guilty for not being more careful with what we consume etc. We give "Zakat" each year, which is giving away 2.5% of your wealth to charity, this is something we always do and it feels so right to be doing it. So in 2011 I am going to live much more frugally and I have booked the milk man to deliver milk, to support local businesses already too.

What are your New Year Resolutions?

I will try and stick to mine and keep looking back at this post to remind myself :-)

Our Christmas 2010 in Pictures

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas?

Despite all being hit with this horrible flu bug we had a really lovely time, especially Belle! We went over to Grams and Papa's on Christmas eve. This year was even more magical then BB's 1st Christmas because she was so aware and understood about Father Christmas (well that he comes and leaves presents anyway!).  She put out a carrot for Rudolph and left a cookie and milk for Santa on the table.

I will explain the rest in pictures...

Love is....

It's the last Gallery entry of 2010 and this week's theme is LOVE!

It comes at a great time as we have had quite a whirlwind week. We were all hit with this awful chest infection that has been going around and it hit my dad quite badly. It makes you realise what is important in life, all the Christmas planning went out the window and all we wanted was for him to be better and all of us to be together. In true daddy style he was out of hospital within a couple days and is now better then any of us!

So love to me is my family.

For all the times they have been there, for all the things they have taught me, for all the childhood dreams I was able to live and for all the Love they have shown.

More then anything Love is being a parent.

Love is having you here....

Love is watching you grow....

Love is always being there to help you if you need me...

Love is you and daddy

Love is us, our family.

Love is not wanting anything else in life.

You make us so proud each day Baby Belle and we love you with all our hearts.

Monsoon Girls Autumn/Winter 2010

Following on from of our last review of the Spring/Summer Collection we here at Mummys Shoes have been lucky enough to bring to you the Autumn/Winter Collection too and what better time to show you some of our favourite outfits and accessories, for it is only 11 days until Christmas!

This is one of my favourite items in the collection and BB loves wearing it. It is warm and extremely comfortable, not to mention adorable with its fringed hem and attached hood.

Blue Sequin Hat as detailed above

Our favourite pick from the Auntumn/Winter Collection. This dress is magnificent and the colour glistens beautifully.  If you are looking for a stunning party dress for your little girl then you can't go wrong with this! This dress is fully lined and has a lovely corsage detail on the front.

Marabou Ivory Bag                               Sequin Butterfly Ivory Hair Clips

Finally we give you this completely adorable Dungaree Set in lilac. This is my favourite casual outfit we have ever had for BB. It is practical, comfy and yet so feminine and pretty.

On the 11th and 12th Day of Christmas....

That's it we made it to day 12! Of course BB still has many pockets left on her advent calendar and I will try and update my blog with what she gets for you.

Yesterday she got quite possibly her favourite item yet...It's a Grandpa (or PaPa as BB calls him) Fisher-Price Little Person. He doesn't look this old in real life (don't worry dad) but she adores it and he has been everywhere with her in the last 24 hours.
This morning she got this adorable gingerbread man finger puppet to add to her growing collection of puppets from The Puppet Co.

My brother had a little Christmas get-together at his house yesterday which was really lovely. Here are a few pictures from it. Apologies for the quality of some of them, some were taken on my iphone (poor quality) and some on my Nikon (good quality)

And of course a quick trip to Starbucks at the end of the day (it is only a couple of meters away from my brothers house so had to be done!)

On the 9th and 10th day of Christmas....

I failed...I tried to do a post a day for the 12 days of Christmas and yesterday I forgot! So today I give you two for the price of one to make up for it.

I have no excuse really because BB has been at Grams and PaPa's house overnight.

We had our work Christmas meal last night which was a lot of fun with lots of banter, Christmas hat and mustache wearing, fires, fire alarms and many giggles.

So what did BB get from her Pixie Advent Calendar....

She got....

A gorgeous Teddy Bear Alarm Clock from Past Times I knew there must have been a clock in one of the presents as for the last 9 days I have heard a ticking coming from it! BB loves clocks and she loves bears so this was a great present for her!

and

A Christmas Fisher Price 'Little People' character to add to her collection

More festive goings-on tomorrow as my brother is having a little get-together at his house. His house has amazingly high ceilings and so he has bought a 9.5 ft'er Tree from Denmark! I'm sure BB will LOVE it!
