Family Portrait Project

I adore photography and as many already know I am rarely seen at events without my SLR.  Don't get me wrong I am by no means a great photographer but I still love to try! I really believe a photo can speak a thousand words. A good photo can reignite feelings, memories, smells and bring a smile to your face or a tear to the eye. Since having Belle I have taken SO many to try and capture those exact moments.

Hotpoint have teamed up with top photographer Steve McCurry (known to most probably for his picture of that beautiful girl with the green eyes) to launch an online competition for snapshots of European families.

All families have until October 15th to submit their favourite family portrait at www.family.hotpoint.eu – the winning family will be flown to New York to have their photograph taken by Steve McCurry.
“In my portraits I try to express the vulnerable moment when the soul clearly appears, shown in the subject’s face. I like an image to tell a human story,” says Steve McCurry, “When I take photos of the families I meet, I try to convey the power of human relationships revealed by subtle clues on faces and in gestures and behaviours.”

So if you want to enter your family portrait just pop along to www.family.hotpoint.eu and go to the ‘take part’ page. I have!
